Yes. You are not required to attend a field trip.

I only want to attend the field trip portion of the conference. Can I do that?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sign up for the virtual conference and then sign up for the field trip(s) through Midwestix. Signing up for the virtual conference provides the opportunity to register for a field trip.

Question 3

Can I sign up for more than one field trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but please note that the field trip locations may be a few hours away from one another. By registering for a field trip, you are taking a spot on a very limited roster. Please be considerate of others and ONLY register for the field trip(s) you will absolutely attend.

The field trip that I want to attend is sold out. Can I be put onto a waiting list?

Unfortunately, no.  Please register early to ensure that you can attend the field trip of your choice.

I support the Iowa Prairie Conference and I want to ensure it is secure and continues for years to come. Can I donate more than $10.00?

Yes, absolutely!  $10.00 is only a suggestion. If you want to help keep the Iowa Prairie Conference going strong into the future, we welcome and appreciate donations.

I don’t have the funds to pay for the conference. Can I still attend?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely!  We are suggesting participants donate a minimum of $10.00, but there is no required fee to attend. Please feel free to contribute whatever you're able.

Question 7

I signed up for the virtual portion of the conference and now I can’t attend. Will the virtual portion of the conference be recorded and available for later viewing?

Yes! We will record the conference, and post the recording on the Iowa Prairie Network website roughly two weeks after the conference.

Question 8

What COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed during the in person field trips?

Accepted Answer

Masks will not be required due to field trips being an outdoor activity, but participants will be expected to maintain six feet of social distance.  Participants may wear a mask to suit their comfort level or if 6 feet of distance cannot be maintained.

Will there be a virtual option for those unable to attend a field trip in person?

Unfortunately, no.

How do I Zoom?

If you have not used Zoom before, you will need to download the free application beforehand: Go to https://zoom.us/download a(https://zoom.us/download)nd from the Download Center, click on the Download button under “Zoom Client For Meetings”. This application will automatically download when you start your first Zoom Meeting.

Do I need to be a member of Iowa Prairie Network to attend the conference?

Accepted Answer

Question 12

Is the virtual conference suitable for kids? What about the field trips?

Accepted Answer

We are not offering specific programming for kids, but we would love to have them join. It is important to introduce Iowa’s landscapes to the next generation.

Is there a platform for vendors at the virtual conference?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not at this time. Due to hosting this conference virtually, the logistics for that are more than we are equipped to handle.
