NOTES ON THE TYPES OF DEALERS

Iowa Ecotype Seeed Dealers
These seed dealers sell seed that is propagated from the Native Roadside Vegetation Center's Iowa Ecotype Project. In this program, seed from three different climatic zones are propagated and sold: North, Central, and South. This is also known as "Yellow Tag" Seed.

Local Ecotype Seed Dealers
These dealers sell seed that originated from a close proximity to a specific area. Check to see what area they are collecting from. Also make sure to ask if their local seed is from a remnant population, and not a site planted from seed outside the area.

NOTE:
Seed dealers that deal in Iowa or Local Ecotype seed often sell distant-origin seed also. SPECIFY if you want Iowa or Local Ecotype Seed.
